                         Dr. Kenneth Kalthoff, D.V.M.
   Dr. Kalthoff graduated with honors, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Science in 1984 from the University of Idaho.  He then attended Washington State University where he received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1987.  While attending Washington State University, Dr. Kalthoff participated in an advanced training program in emergency medicine and critical care. 
   Upon graduation, Dr. Kalthoff continued to work in the field of emergency medicine and critical care, first in Longview Washington, and then when he moved to Southern California.  He managed an emergency clinic in Orange County for five years and then worked for four years at an advanced veterinary diagnostic and treatment facility in Fountain Valley.  He and Dr. Porte became partners in business in 1994 when they purchased Tri-City Veterinary Clinic.
   Dr. Kalthoff met his wife Angela while working in Longview, Washington.  They have two children.  They  share their home with two dogs, Amidala and Domino, a cat, Princess, and a parrot, Java.  The Kalthoffs enjoy skiing, golfing, and other outdoor sports.  Their other pastime is cooking and wine tasting.
   

Dr. Jennifer Riedel

     Butterfield Animal Hospital is happy to welcome Dr. Jennifer Riedel to our practice.  Dr. Riedel graduated from the Air Force Academy with a dual Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.  She spent six years as an Air Force Engineer before being selected to attend The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  Prior to joining Butterfield, Dr. Riedel worked in Fairfax, Virginia as a small animal practitioner with extensive experience in emergency room and intensive care medicine.

      Dr. Riedel met her husband, Dale, while they attended the Air Force Academy.  Her husband is currently serving in the Air Force as an Active Duty JAG at March Air Reserve Base.  The Riedels share their lives with two dogs, Kinsey (Sheppard/lab mix) and Liberty (Treeing Walker Coonhound mix), as well as a Budgie named Fred.  They enjoy outdoor activities, riding their motorcycles through the mountains, and tasting wines.
